Need a job? A timely opportunity is available on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Refuge.
Located in the Family Support Center (the old Blythe Avenue Elementary School), The Refuge has served Cleveland and Bradley County residents for the past four years. Focusing on “empowering families for sustainable living,” The Refuge has maintained an impressive success rate in helping the unemployed locate and obtain jobs. For those who remain in the Jobs Connection program, 100 percent have obtained jobs or moved on to further educational opportunities.
The Refuge Job Fair will be held at the Family Support Center at 1075 Blythe Ave. S.E. The Fair is open to anyone seeking employment. Currently, 19 local businesses and organizations have signed up to attend.
Businesses and organizations already registered to participate in the Job Fair include Applebee’s, Belk, Bradley/Polk Adult Education (REACH), Cato, Cleveland State Community College, DEB, Express Employment, Firehouse Subs, Hampton Inn, Massage Institute, New Concept School of Cosmetology, ProLogistix, Rue 21, Select Staffing, Sodexo, Staff Management, SunTrust Bank, Taco Bell, and T. J. Maxx. Organizers anticipate the field will grow even more prior to Saturday’s event.
“This is an opportunity for employers needing workers to be connected with those looking for work,” said Kelli Kyle, The Refuge vice president and director of community involvement. “Everyone in need of employment is invited to attend the event.”
She added, “No registration is required for job seekers. Simply show up between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. and connect with potential employers.”
