Duane and Sheila Schriver of Cleveland announce the engagement of their daughter, Sydney, to Andrew Hopper, the son of David and Margaret Hopper, also of Cleveland.

The couple will be united in marriage in a 4 p.m. ceremony on Dec. 19 in Cancun, Mexico.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Edwin and Margaret Lee McKenzie of Cleveland. She is the sister of Kristin Robinson of Dublin, Ga.

Miss Schriver is a 1997 graduate of Cleveland High School and a 2005 graduate of University of Tennessee Memphis College of Pharmacy. She is employed by Memorial Hospital. She attends the Presbyterian Church.

The future bridegroom is the grandson of Hilda Day of Cleveland, the late Leonard Day and the late David and Betty Hopper. He is the brother of Karen Liner of Cleveland.

Mr. Hopper is a 1994 graduate of Bradley Central High School and a 1997 graduate of Lee University.

He is employed by Tennessee Valley Authority. He is a member of St. Therese Catholic Church.
