Lauren Elaine Scott of Memphis will become the bride of Wilburn Thomas “Trey” Grant III of Cleveland on May 7 at The Church of the Good Shepherd in Nashville. The ceremony will be officiated by the Rev. Joseph Ballard Jr.

The forthcoming marriage is announced by the parents of the bridegroom, Tom and Geneie Grant of Cleveland. The bride-elect is the daughter of Bonnie Scott of Memphis.

Miss Scott is the granddaughter of the late Evlyn and Wilbur Mims of Memphis and the late Joyce and Herbert Scott. She is the sister of Lindsey Scott of Oakland, Calif.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Ridgeway High School. She attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville where she received a bachelor’s degree in education. She then attended Tennessee State University for her master’s degree in physical therapy and is working toward her doctorate at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She is a physical therapist at NHC in Murfreesboro.

Mr. Grant is the grandson of Mary Grant of Charlottesville, Va., the late Wilburn Grant and the late Sara and Gene Brown. He is the brother of Tamra Nelson of Ball Ground, Ga.

The future bridegroom is a graduate of The McCallie School in Chattanooga and attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville where he graduate magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in accountancy. He is a certified public accountant and an audit manager for Deloitte and Touche in Nashville.
