Seminary graduation tonight, Saturday

The 37th graduation exercises for the Pentecostal Theological Seminary will be held tonight and Saturday at North Cleveland Church of God.

The seminary, a Church of God Ministry, will have honors and commissioning service tonight at 6, according to Dr. Steven Jack Land, president. The commencement program will be held Saturday, 10 a.m.

The commencement address will be presented by Roger J. Stronstad, academic dean at Summit Pacific College in Abbotsford, British Columbia.

Stronstad, an ordained minister with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada, has been an instructor in Bible and theology at Summit Pacific for 38 years. He has taught graduate theological education in various institutions in Canada and internationally. In 2004, he received a lectureship at the Pentecostal Theological Seminary.

Dr. Stronstad is also the author of several books, including “The Charismatic Theology of St. Luke” and “The Prophethood of All Believers.” He has also published award-winning magazine and journal articles.

Dr. J. Ayodeji Adewuya, professor of New Testament, will serve as the grand marshal for the commencement ceremony. Adewuya will lead the processional.

Among the honors to be presented tonight will be the American Bible Society Biblical Studies Award, the Care Ministries Award, Counseling Award, International Student Leadership Award, the F.J. May Excellence in Preaching Award and the Pentecostal Ministry Award.

During the commencement program Saturday, the Alumnus of the Year will be recognized prior to the awarding of diplomas.
