The possibility of severe thunderstorms and strong winds could create problems later tonight and into Wednesday.

“This is crazy weather,” said Jerry Johnson Jr. of the Cleveland-Bradley County Emergency Management Agency.

Last week, Bradley County and the entire Southeast region of Tennessee dealt with freezing rain.

The National Weather Service in Morristown is calling for strong to severe thunderstorms after a daytime high of near 70 degrees is reached this afternoon.

“As strong winds aloft ahead of a strong cold front that approached the southern Appalachians and the Tennessee Valley during the day Wednesday, the main threat from this system would be damaging winds,” according to NWS.

Meteorologists believe dangerous conditions could be at higher elevations.

The ever-changing weather in the area also includes a slight chance of snow overnight Thursday after temperatures cool.
