Sharon Howard, owner of Cleveland Therapeutic Massage Clinic, recently completed the Professional Care Training through the Arvigo Institute in New Hampshire.

Howard is able to offer the Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy in her practice.

The Arvigo Techniques were developed by Dr. Rosita Arvigo, naprapathic physician, herbalist, international lecturer and author.

A resident of Central America for more than 40 years, she studied with various traditional healers, the most notable of whom was Don Elijio Panti, the renowned Maya shaman of Belize.

Practitioners are qualified health care practitioners who develop the skills required to apply the Arvigo techniques in their practices.

The training included an overview of anatomy and physiology of the abdominal and reproductive organs, causes and symptoms of malpositioned organs and self-care techniques.

The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy are founded on the ancient Maya technique of abdominal massage, which is an external, non-invasive manipulation that repositions internal organs that have shifted, thereby restricting the flow of blood, lymph, nerve, and shi.

Based on 40 years of training and experience in massage, naprapthy, herbology, and spiritual healing, this modality incorporates a holistic approach to health and wellness.
