Shirley D. Hitchings, 64, of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014, in Chattanooga.
She was born in Athens and raised in Riceville. She was of the Baptist faith, enjoyed traveling and was employed as a housekeeper at Memorial Hospital at the time of her passing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Hitchings; daughter, Sherry Ann Aglor; grandchildren, Christopher and Summer Hall; father, T.A. Crittenden; mother, Lora Mae Crittenden; sister, Martha Jo Frame; and brothers: Jackie A. and Charles C. Crittenden.
She is survived by her sister, Carolyn Loretta (David R.) Ramsey and Vickie Crittenden; brother, J.T. Crittenden; grandson, Joseph Aglor; nieces: Nancy Davis, Sandy Lambertino, Patricia Whaley, Amanda Rodriguez and Michelle Crittenden; and nephew, Randy Crittenden.
The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, April 25, 2014, at the funeral home.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014, at the funeral home with the Rev. Wayland Stewart officiating.
Interment will follow at Calhoun Baptist Church Cemetery in Calhoun.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
