Jeffery Blair, 48, was identified as the shooting victim. Law enforcement officials are searching for Jerry M. Kincaid, 43, according to Bob Gault, media relations coordinator for Bradley County Sheriff’s Office.
The shooting occurred at a Burris Lane residence, which is located just off Frontage Road in Charleston, according to reports.
Charleston Police Department and Bradley County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the scene after a call to 911 dispatchers that a man had suffered a gunshot wound.
According to 911 reports, the victim appeared to have been shot at least once in the lower left abdomen.
According to Gault, investigators learned Blair and his girlfriend, who was Kincaid’s sister, got into an argument and Kincaid allegedly pulled a handgun and shot Blair.
Bradley County Emergency Medical Service initially called for LifeForce helicopter to transport the victim; however, paramedics canceled air medical units and transported him via ambulance to Erlanger Medical Center for treatment.
Details were few this morning surrounding the incident, according to Bob Gault, media relations coordinator for BCSO.
Gault indicated Criminal Investigations Division detectives worked throughout the night documenting the crime scene and following up on information concerning the suspect.
Gault confirmed that Kincaid hasn’t been located as of this morning and is still being sought.
Investigation is continuing.
Kincaid was described in 911 reports as being 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighing between 200-220 pounds and having short, gray hair. He was last seen wearing cutoff shorts and a baggy sweater.
