Nashville — Heading into the final round of the 64th Annual Tennessee State Open, Craig Smith of Nashville opened the day with a two shot lead over round one leader Derek Rende. Smith started the day right with birdies at the par 5 first and par 3 third holes, but gave up a late bogey on Gaylord Springs Golf Links’ final hole of the front side. After making the turn with a one shot lead over Rende the two-man show took it to the back side for a par making grind. Each split a pair of birdies and bogeys to shoot even par on the back side. After his par 4 on Gaylord Springs’ 18th hole, Smith had captured a one stroke victory over Rende, and the title of Tennessee State Open Champion.
