Athens Area Council for the Arts presents the 11th “Evening with the Stars,” a community showcase of talent, on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at The Arts Center in Athens.

The show is directed by Lindsey Kimball, veteran Athens Community Theatre member and local musician.

“Evening with the Stars” is an annual event that features auditioned talent from around the region.

The eclectic group of performers represents a broad range of ages and talent — the show includes everything from singer-songwriters to dancers to pianists, and features Andrew Rowe, Chris Livingston, Courtney Holder, Emmy McKenzie, Hannah Gentry, Kinslee Melhorn, the Kintala Dancers, Nate Patterson, Reily Kennedy, Robert Burleson, Rose Drive, Skyline Songbirds and Steady Breather.

The Arts Center house band includes Andrew Kimball, Ellen Kimball, Joe Littleton and Lindsey Kimball.

Come early to see local visual art talent on display. The opening reception for our high school art show is from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at The Arts Center. The reception is free to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

Proceeds from “Evening With the Stars” benefit the Athens Area Council for the Arts.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students and are available online at www.athensartscouncil.org, by phone at 423-745-8781, or at The Arts Center, 320 N. White St. in Athens.
