Spurgeon Mynatt, 85, passed away at his home on Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012.
He was the owner of Addison Electric Company and was retired from the Y-12 plant in Oak Ridge. He was a World War II Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; a sister; by his wife, Iva Lee Smith Mynatt; and by his daughter, Linda Mynatt Riley.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn, of Knoxville; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and the Rev. Michael Ogle of Cleveland; daughter, Donna Mynatt of Knoxville; sons and daughter-in-laws: David and Dina Hodges and Brian and Kellie Hodges, all of Knoxville; grandsons and wives: Mike and Angie Ogle of Ooltewah, Tim and Kristie Ogle of Cleveland; and granddaughter and husband, Kelley, and Nathan Garner of LaJolla, Calif., great-granddaughter, Haley Ogle or Ooltewah; great-granddaughter, Mary Beth and husband, Hunter Spencer; great-granddaughter, Emily Ogle; great-grandson, Christ Allen Ogle, all from Cleveland; great-grandson, Joshua and great-granddaughter, Madeline, of LaJolla, Calif.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren of Knoxville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was a longtime faithful member of the Central Church of God where he had held numerous church offices.
The visitation was held on Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at the Central Church of God with a celebration of his life that followed at 8 p.m. with the Revs. Jack Dean and Michael Ogle officiating.
Interment was held Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012 at Highland West Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
