Steve Douglas Voyles, 47, a resident of Cleveland, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, Dec. 23, 2011, at his home.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hubert Voyles; and his brother, Arnold Voyles.

He was known to have a big heart and enjoyed helping people and being with his family. He enjoyed fishing and truck driving with his brother. He attended the New Beginnings Fellowship Church.

Survivors include his loving mother, Edith Grissom; her husband, Lloyd “Peanut” Grissom; his loving wife, Pamela Voyles; his daughter, Amber Voyles; his stepchildren: Natanya Wiedman and Terry Brink; his grandchildren; his brother, Hubert Voyles Jr. and his wife, Linda; his sister, Donna Webb and her husband, Michael; half brothers: Tracy Voyles, Anthony Voyles, Hubert Schmitt; his half sister: Michelle Tolin; and nieces and nephews, Chris Swallows, Billy Swallows, Arnold Voyles and Lisa Johnson.

The Remembrance of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, from the Wildwood Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Revs. Josh Taylor and Guinn Green officiating.

Interment will follow in the Fort Hill Cemetery with Peanut Grissom, Larry Headrick, Chris Swallows, Billy Swallows, Josh Anderson and Michael Webb serving as pallbearers.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to his mother, Edith Grissom, at 2360 Blackburn Road S.E. Apt. 82 Cleveland, TN 37311.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 8 this evening at the the funeral home.
