Kim Strickland was recently named the 2012 recipient of the Excellence in Teaching Award at Tennessee Christian Preparatory School during the Upper School commencement activities on May 12.

“Kim, personifies the word ‘Excellent’ in all that she does. She models educational professionalism and Christian grace. In fact, the descriptors listed in the school’s Characteristics of Excellent Teachers Guidelines and used to identify our annual honorees, could be a check list of Kim’s personal and professional personas,” TCPS President Bill Balzano said.

Her teaching colleagues provide high praise for Strickland as one of the school’s finest educators. She is always one of the first to arrive and last to leave. Strickland has dedicated herself to enriching students’ lives.

“She seeks God’s direction for her life; she is an excellent academician, colleague, mentor, and communicator who values not only her students, but also the students’ families, as individuals. She is committed to Tennessee Christian Preparatory School and to independent Christian education,” Lower School Principal Kathi Douglas said.

Kimela Strickland has State Certification to teach kindergarten through the eight grade. She has taught at Tennessee Christian Preparatory School for 11 years.
