THE SCIENCE OF FLIGHT was studied by Reylee Hernandez, left, Gracen Gay and Kyler Hawkins at the Creative Discovery Museum science night.
Ten activity stations, each staffed by school personnel, allowed students and parents to work cooperatively and conduct experiments or complete science activities.
For example, the science of flight center had children choose an aircraft — either rocket, plane, helicopter or blimp — to build. The cells station explained differences in plant and animal cells, then students built a model.
Families who visited all 10 stations had their names submitted to win a one-year pass to the Creative Discovery museum. Stuart School parent coordinator Joanne Swafford drew the winning completed worksheet of Alex Jauregui. Alex and Nick, along with their mother Candy Callahan, were pleased to know they can enjoy the museum’s hands-on activities for an entire year.
Creative Discovery Museum will return to Stuart School once more this school year for family Health Night on May 9, 2013.
