Students from various local schools have pitched in to help others both at their schools and in their community this spring, and many have also found ways to help better themselves.

Walker Valley High School students recently collected donations to help families with newborn babies at New Hope Pregnancy Care Center.

North Lee Elementary School students recently pitched in to help by doing work around their school, pulling weeds, planting flowers and doing other tasks to keep their school’s campus looking like spring.

A group of students at Taylor Elementary School recently made a commitment to serve others by joining their school’s Junior Beta Club chapter.

Black Fox Elementary School students learned about “fueling potential” by making healthy lifestyle choices like using sunscreen, avoiding tobacco and eating nutritious foods.

Students from Hopewell Elementary School became “Super Kids,” achieving their goals of running, biking and swimming the TRYathlon during the YMCA’s recent Healthy Kids Day event.

A student from Cleveland was honored for her service while she was away at college at Austin Peay State University.
