Cleveland Police are searching for a suspect involved in a break in and vandalism of a business office located on Mount Vernon Drive.

The incident reportedly occurred during last weekend when the offices of Sharp Development were closed.

According to a report filed by officer Julius Porter of the Cleveland Police Department, officers and detectives responded to the area to begin an investigation after reports of a prowler call Sunday morning.

When Porter arrived, he contacted Sgt. Mark Darnell after he discovered heavy damage to the interior of the office building.

Detective Brian Pritchard and Crime Scene technician Shane Clark responded to the scene and began documentation of the damage as well as collecting evidence.

A witness stated he approached the building after hearing someone inside. The suspect reportedly stepped outside, began threatening and throwing things at the witness. Another witness at an adjacent business also indicated the suspect was an older male who was wearing khaki cargo shorts, but no shirt. The suspect was also small framed and approximately 5-feet 11-inches tall.

During the initial investigation, officers found a computer and monitor damaged, various picture frames and desks vandalized, windows broken and other items destroyed. The report indicated a number of items were located outside the building.

According to the report, damage was assessed at $3,950.

Investigation is being conducted by detective Pritchard of the Criminal Investigations Division.

• Bradley County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man on alleged false imprisonment charges earlier this week.

According to a report filed by deputy Cru Ross, he was aided by deputy Brandon Edwards and Jay Lawson after responding to a call on Hunt Road.

A domestic disturbance was noted and a female said Jimmy Lee Samples, 28, would not “let her leave the residence.”

Samples was taken into custody and transported to the Bradley County Jail where he was charged.
