Tennessee Christian Preparatory School has welcomed several exchange students during the last several years.

“We are delighted to welcome Mathias Della Tonia from Idaiatuba, Brazil,” said director of admissions Melanie Stout.

Della Tonia arrived on campus Aug. 19 and was given a warm welcome by the Upper School student body. He is a senior, well-prepared academically and socially for his visit to an American school.

School President Dr. Bill Balzano said the TCPS community welcomes exchange students as the school’s academic program is approved by the federal government for accepting such students. “Our school family believes that welcoming exchange students not only enriches the life of the exchange student, but also enriches the lives of our local students,” Balzano said.

Della Tonia loves soccer, and TCPS staff and parents are attempting to get him connected with area soccer clubs. He intends to major in engineering and is preparing during his final year of high school to apply to universities with strong engineering majors.
