The oversized loads are being maneuvered to the construction site of the new Wacker Polysilicon North American complex, between the hours of 8 p.m. and 7 a.m. In addition to Monday, the schedules for the interstate moves on I-75 South include:
- McMinn County from Mile Marker 49 to Mile Marker 36 on Wednesday and Aug. 6.
- McMinn County from Mile Marker 36 to Bradley County Mile Marker 33 tonight, and also Thursday and Aug. 7.
The speed of the vehicles used to transport the oversized loads averages 10 to 15 mph., and the vehicle will occupy both lanes on the interstate, according to Tennessee Department of Transportation advisories. A major traffic impact is anticipated during these moves. The Tennessee Highway Patrol, TDOT crews and local law enforcement will assist with traffic control.
Motorists are urged to plan an alternate route during these time periods, according to TDOT and law enforcement divisions. Those who must travel on I-75 South are urged to be patient and watch for changing conditions as this oversized equipment is moved through the area.
