The Taylors Family and Community Education Club meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance by Oleta Ownby. The noon meeting was held at the Bradley County Agricultural Building on March 4.

County Extension agent Kaye Smith presented the program on Energy Efficiency. She gave members 10 low-cost, energy-saving tips to lower energy costs: Adjust the thermostat, replace light bulbs with energy-efficient bulbs, unplug appliances and electronics when not in use, lower hot water temperature, wash clothes in cold water, replace showerhead, seal air leaks, replace heating and cleaning system filters, manage appliance usage and have an energy audit performed on your home.

Pauline Cartwright called the roll, which was answered by “What is your favorite color, and why?” Joan Bryson offered the blessing.

Ownby reported on the Valentine banquet and announced the sew day for Books for Newborns. She said to bring items for The Caring Place, also, to the council meeting in April.

Pizza was enjoyed by all. Others present were members Linda Brown, Brenda Carder, Sherrie Duvall, Bennie Jenkins, June Parks, Vergie Toomey, Loretta Walker, Mary Bagley, Retha Odom, Mary Ann Cornelius and guest Cathy Shreve.
