The Lady Flames, ranked No. 16 by the NAIA, were pushed into four tie-breaker sets in their win. In the No. 3 doubles, Stephanie Todd won a 7-1 tie-breaker in their 9-8 decision.
The exciting play continued in singles where Gray played her second tie-breaker of the day in defeating Sarah Rainwater, 6-4, 4-6, (10-8 TB). In the No. 4 singles Annie Sandberg fought hard to win 7-6 (10-8 TB), 6-3.
After a 9-7 win in No. 2 doubles by Patrick Kim and Renan Molineiro, the Flames, No. 15 in the latest NAIA poll, coasted to straight set victories the rest of the day.
