The Bradley County 10-year-old All-Stars recently won the 2013 Tennessee Dizzy Dean State Tournament, at East Hamilton County Park in Collegedale. The BC All-Stars had a tough beginning draw, taking on undefeated South Pittsburg in their first game. BC won a tough game then continued in the winner’s bracket by beating Jasper and Dayton. In a tough loss to Dayton on Tuesday evening, BC had to win its Wednesday night game against Dayton for the championship. The teams were very evenly matched and the game was very close. In the top of the sixth inning, the score was tied at 6-6 with the home team BC All-Stars getting the final at bat. With the bases loaded, Gage Peace cracked a line drive to right field, bringing home Spencer Mantooth to score the winning run in the 7-6 victory.
