The Caring Place Community Garden was established in 2008 through a partnership with the Cleveland Housing Authority. This year five families from the East Street Housing Development used a minimum of two beds each for planting in the East Street Community Garden. Volunteer leadership and a variety of volunteer groups help to make this project a success and provide an opportunity for residents to grow their own food. This weekend a group of volunteers met to clear debris and prepare the garden for the spring growing season. Lee University Gateway service volunteers; Jennifer Norton, director of The Greenway Table; and Marlee Bidon, Community Garden coordinator for the Caring Place, prepare the garden.
