Thomas Lynn Whitmire, 56, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, at his home.
He was a member of Tasso Christian Church. He was a member of the Cleveland Masonic Lodge, No. 134, F&AM, where he was a 32nd degree Mason.
A graduate of Bradley Central High School class of 1975, he was an avid Vols fan. He retired from Whirlpool Corp. after 36 years of service on June 1, 2012. He was very devoted to his grandchildren.
He was the son of the late Eulas and Vivian Vaughn Whitmire.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Darlene Whitmire of Cleveland; two daughters: Charlene Mason and Heather Whitmire and fiancé, Joel “Sunshine” Curtis, all of Cleveland; grandchildren: Breonna Dannel, David Clark, Jacob Curtis, and Jeremiah Curtis; two great-grandchildren: Haiden Reedy and Silas Randolph; and also several aunts, nieces, and nephews.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Rev. David Evans officiating.
Interment will follow in Johnston Cemetery in Meigs County. Pallbearers will be Brian Mooneyham, Randy Burmeister, Travis White, Johnny Cash, Allen Greer and Allan Cash.
The service will conclude with a white dove release ceremony.
His family will receive friends on Monday, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
