Timothy Jahue Stanton, 58, a resident of Ocoee, passed away Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, at his residence.

He was a native of Athens, had lived in Houston for half of his life and moved back to McMinn County in 2001.

He was a member of Cane Creek Baptist Church of Etowah. He was a mechanic and enjoyed working on cars. He loved to fish and had a big heart for others.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Judy Ann Stanton Hughes; paternal grandparents, Raymond and Leona Belle Stanton; maternal grandparents, Browder and Sylena Price.

He is survived by his wife, Melinda Minchew Stanton of Houston; mother, Billie Sue Price Walden and husband, Nick, of Niota; father, Raymond Stanton of Etowah; two sons: Charlie Bowshier and wife, Priscilla, of Houston and Timothy Stanton and wife, Jessica, of Cleveland; three daughters: Stephanie Payne and husband, Kenneth, of Gallatin, Sylena Sue Stanton of Franklin and Deborah Leana Stanton of Houston; 11 grandchildren; six sisters: Debbie Shelton and husband, Ronnie, of Pikeville, Wanda Martin and husband, James, of Madisonville, Dean Stanton of Raleigh, N.C., Tammy Stanton of Rome, Ga., Paula Cates and husband, Bobby, of Athens and Barbara Taylor and husband, Jeff, of Athens; three brothers: Ricky J. Stanton and wife, Cyrethea of Cleveland, Keith Walden and wife, Gidget, of Niota and Raymond Stanton and wife, Brenda, of Calhoun, Ga.; several nieces and nephews; and other extended family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Cleveland with the Rev. Tim Woody officiating.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, at the church prior to the service.
