Tom Willoughby, 72, died peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, after a battle with ALS.

He was born on March 3, 1941, in Jellico. He was preceeded in death by his parents, Don and Modena Willoughby.

After graduating from the University of Tennessee, he began a 40-year career in sales. He was an avid UT football fan and never missed a game. He was a member of Saint Peter and Saint Paul Episcopal Church in Marietta, Ga.

He is survived by his wife, Holly Hosch Willoughby; sons and grandchildren: Thomas (Chip) Willoughby Jr., Liam, Ethan and Mason Willoughby of Knoxville, Miles and Ashley Willoughby, Anabelle, Caroline, Blake and Cole Willoughby of Marietta, Henry Lane of Athens, William Lane and Emily, Hannah and Jackson Lane of Marietta; and sister, Donna Willoughby Probst (John) of Marietta.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of H.M. Patterson & Son Canton Hill.

There will be a reception after the service.
