Dereida O’Steen Bowlin of Tallahassee, Fla., became the bride of Grady M. Townsend of Cleveland in an afternoon ceremony on Dec. 31, 2010, at the Johnston Woods R.B. Hurt Center.

The bride is the daughter of the late Foye and Nelda O’Steen of Mayo, Fla.

The bridegroom is the son of the late Elvin and Ruth Townsend of Naples, Fla.

The ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Robert McCready. Nuptial music was provided by Paul and Michelle Townsend Thompson of Spring, Texas, the bridegroom’s daughter and her husband; Mark and Shelly Townsend of Humble, Texas, bridegroom’s son and his wife; David Bowlin of Tallahassee, Fla., the bride’s son; and Dallas Bowlin of Tallahassee, the bride’s grandson.

The bride was presented in marriage by her sons, Darin D. and David D. Bowllin, both of Tallahassee. Her sister, Phyllis O. Thomas of Jacksonville, Fla., attended her as matron of honor.

The bridegroom’s son, Mark Townsend, served as best man. Ushers were grandsons, Jonathan Ray and Justin Ray, both of Spring, and Dallas Bowlin and Dustin Bowlin, both of Tallahassee.

The flower girl was Maren Chapel Townsend, Mark and Shelly Townsend’s daughter and granddaughter of the bridegroom. Cylas Parker Bowlin, grandson of the bride and son of Darin and Cammie Bowlin, served as the ring bearer.

Kaylee Bowlin of Tallahassee kept the bride’s book.

The reception was given by the bridal couple at the R.B. Hurt Center.

After a wedding trip to Whitestone, the newlywed couple resides at their home in Cleveland.
