Shannon Nicole Thomas of Cleveland and Frank Joseph Trem Jr. of Cleveland, Ohio, were united in marriage in an afternoon ceremony at Broad Street United Methodist Church on Sept. 17.

The bride is the daughter of Phillip and Dale Thomas of Cleveland. She is the granddaughter of the Rev. F.E. Thomas and the late Nettie Thomas of Florida and the late H.G. and Virginia Frith of Virginia.

The bridegroom is the son of Frank Trem and the late Sandra Lee Trem, and the stepson of Mary D’Amico Trem.

The wedding was officiated by the Rev. Jerry Turney, pastor at Bethel World Outreach Center in Nashville. Nuptial music was provided by Amy Dorfman, Cornelia Heard, Carolyn Huebl and Felix Wang, professors of music at the Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University.

On behalf of her parents, the bride was presented in marriage by her father. Angela Cassette of St. Petersburg, Fla., was her maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Dana McIntosh of Nashville and Alisa Seavey of Chicago.

The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Christopher Trem of Escondido, Calif., and Aaron McCalla of Naples, Fla. Roy Horst of Naples served him as best man.

Nora Wang and Adam Wang, both of Nashville, were flower girl and ring bearer.

The bride’s parents hosted a reception at the Old Woolen Mill.

The bride is an alumna of Cleveland High School. She is also a graduate of Vanderbilt University, Yale University and the Cleveland (Ohio) Institute of Music. She is the visiting assistant professor of violin at the University of Southern Mississippi.

The bridegroom is a graduate of the University of Arizona and a violinist in the Naples (Fla.) Philharmonic Orchestra.

The newlywed couple will reside in Naples.
