Her first initiatives will be to develop programs and build up the young adult collection to coordinate with their scholastic common core information text. She has been working part time as young adult coordinator this past year. Brannam, a Cleveland native, graduated from Bradley Central High School and Lee University. She will complete her master in library science from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville this year.
Teen patrons are encouraged to stop by the Teen Zone Area after school to meet and visit with Brannam. She is available Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m and on Fridays until 5:30 p.m.
The “After Hours” for teens, 13 through 17, is held the last Saturday of each month. Teens can come to the library from 7 to 9 p.m. and play X-box or Wii games, watch movies and talk books. There is usually a special theme set for each month and always snacks. Check out the website to see all the scheduled teen activities. Everything in purple is just for teens.
Tween activities begin again this week with Lego Club on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. and Scribblers, 9-14, a new writers club, Aug. 22 at 4:30 p.m.
