He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Artha Patterson Green.
He is survived by his children: Linda Moore of Deming, N.M. and David Green of Cohutta, Ga.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters: Martha Gates and Exie Flowers, both of Cleveland, and Dellie Conner of Blue Ridge, Ga.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 2010 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Rev. James Whaley officiating.
Interment will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery in Copperhill. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
