Vernice Gravitt Jackson, 81, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, in a local health care facility.
She was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Rose Gravitt. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Leon Gravitt. She was a loving wife mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Edwin Jackson; daughter, Vickie Sharp and her husband, Andy; son, Larry Jackson and his wife, Donna, all of Cleveland; grandchildren and their spouses: Timothy and Chrystal Sharp, Derrick and Diane Jackson and Christina and Eric McKenzie, all of Cleveland, and Jeff and Katie Jackson of Conroe Texas; great-grandchildren: Brianna Jackson, Tucker Sharp, Baylon Jackson, Bryson Jackson and Lexi McKenzie, all of Cleveland, Sydney Jackson and Ellie Jackson, both of Conroe; stepgreat-grandchildren: Daykota Smallen and Gracie Turner; sister, Almedia Smith and her husband, Benny, of Quebec, Tenn.; brother, Clarence Gravitt and his wife, Tootsie, of Dayton; and several nieces and nephews.
A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at the North Ocoee Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Rev. Frank Underwood officiating.
Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with grandsons and great-grandsons serving as casket bearers.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
