She was the daughter of the late Amanda Golden LeFevers and Clayburn C. LeFevers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dorsey Harkins; her sisters: Lena LeFevers and Vesta Dupree; and her brother, Raymond LeFevers.
She was a seamstress most of her life. She also was a licensed minister with the Church of God and served as an evangelist for 25 years. Her life was reading her Bible and Intercessory Prayer. She taught Sunday school at the Crane Eater Church of God in Calhoun, Ga. for 30 years. She was a member of the North Cleveland Church of God.
Survivors include her daughter, Sue Brown and her husband, Joe, of Cartersville, Ga.; her sons: Harvey D. Harkins and his wife, Patty, of Cleveland, David Harkins and his wife, Pat, of Cartersville, Ga., Jesse Harkins and his wife, Joan, of Gainesville, Ga.; her grandchildren: DeVee Morris of Cleveland, Derenny Harkins of Gainesville, DeVonne Sullins of Cartersville, DeAnne Johnson and her husband, Ben, of Lenoir City, Valerie Ford and her husband, Ricky, Tom Harkins and his wife, Robin, all of Cartersville, Andrea Smith and her husband, Rodney, of Gainesville, Brent Boatwright of Cartersville and Donna Harkins of Cleveland; her 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The Remembrance of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, from North Ocoee Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Al Taylor and Pastor Mitch Maloney officiating.
A graveside service and Interment will follow at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the Crane Eater Church of God Cemetery in Calhoun, Ga. with Tom Harkins, Derenny Harkins, Chad Morris, Sam Sullins, Jake Sullins, Brent Boatwright and Carson Ford serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the North Ocoee Chapel of the funeral homes.
