Virginia Lee Phillips Greene, 91, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, in a local health care facility.
She was the daughter of the late Lee and Ollie Vandora Watson Phillips. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Carl P. Greene; sister, Mary Carter Kile; and brother, Clarence Donald Phillips.
She was a charter member of Sunrise Baptist Church and was very active in her church until her sickness.
Survivors include her daughter, Carlene S. Redmond of Cleveland; grandchildren: Suzyn Currin and her husband, Steven, Melissa Lee Schwark and her husband, Bryan; great-grandchildren: Ashley Feezell, Hampton Price Sherrill, Sebastian Fox Schwark, Nathaniel Schwark and Carl Joseph Schwark; sister-in-law, Florence Green Peters “Mrs. Ira” of Ringgold, Ga.; brother and sister-in-law, Ernest and Dorothy Green of Ringgold; cousin, Margaret Phillips Baker “Mrs. Henry”; and several nieces and nephews.
A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at the Wildwood Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Pastor Benny Watson officiating.
Interment will follow in the Hilcrest Cemetery with Charles Beavers, Tim Tilley, Steven Currin, Bryan Schwark, C.J. Schwark and Ethan Fields serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Friday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
