WSMC Classical 90.5 premiers Classical Community featuring youth-oriented music organizations in the greater Chattanooga area today.

WSMC hopes to bring more attention to the wonderful work that these organizations are doing, as well as to bolster support for them from the community by featuring upcoming concerts and performances.

The first program featured the Chattanooga Boys Choir, an organization dating back to the 1950s that has performed all over the world.

Future programs will feature the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera’s Youth Orchestra, the Center for Creative Arts, the Collegedale Academy Choirs, and the McCallie Guitar Quartet, among others.

“After seeing this community’s support when WSMC brought From the Top to Chattanooga to celebrate our 50th birthday, we are excited to be able to provide a program that continues this passion by and for young performers,” said Scott Kornblum, general manager for the radio station.

Listeners can tune in every Friday at 10 a.m. and again on Sunday at 10 a.m.
