HARRISON — Getting in a little time on the Bear Trace at Harrison Bay course that will be the site of the upcoming District 5-AAA Golf Tournament, Walker Valley continued its winning ways Tuesday.

Facing Ooltewah, the Mustangs claimed a 154-170 victory while the Lady Mustangs won by default because there is only one Lady Owl golfer.

Coach Bob Williams’ girls are in Manchester today, the site of the TSANA State Championship, to play in the WillowBrook Girls’ Invitational. Both Walker Valley teams have been invited to play in the City Prep Tournament back at Bear Trace.

The Mustang effort Tuesday was led by senior Jordan Leggett and sophomore Corey Rollins, who both fired 1-over-par 37s, to tie for low medalist honors.

Senior Garrett Cantrell and sophomore Dylan Lillard rounded out the WV score with 40s.

Danny Gleeson and Parker Sammons both shot 39s to lead the Owls.

In the girls’ play, senior Katie Bishop turned in the day’s low score with a 2-over 38, while classmate Kassey Gregg shot a 42. Ooltewah’s Samantha Griffin carded a 45.
