The Walker Valley freshman Mustangs started the season 3-0 with an 8-6 road victory over Baylor, Tuesday.

Ben Clark was solid at the plate for the Freshman Mustangs. Clark went 3-for-4 and scored two runs with a double in the third inning and singles in the first and fifth innings.

The Mustangs jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first in a back-and-forth battle. Walker Valley caught fire after Brice Gibson singled. Clark then singled, scoring Gibson.

It didn't take long for Baylor to answer with three runs in bottom of the first. Baylor scored on an RBI single by Sneed and a two-run double by Clark.

With eight lead changes after four innings of play, Walker Valley grabbed the lead after a strong fifth inning. A two-run error scored Clark and Jacob Buckner and gave the Mustangs the lead for good.

Although Brandon Lindsey allowed five runs over four innings he still recorded the victory. Lindsey struck out two, walked four and gave up five hits.

The Mustangs have their home opener today at 5 p.m. against Baylor.
