Wanda Jean Sutton, 63, of Cleveland, passed away Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at her home, surrounded by family.

She was born in Chickamauga, Ga., April 13, 1950, a daughter of the late Hubert Cofelt.

She spent her childhood in the McDonald area and has made Cleveland her home since. She was of the Baptist faith. She loved gardening and being outdoors. Above all, she will be most remembered for being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving and devoted husband of 48 years, Jimmy Sutton; daughter and son-in-law: Brenda and Danny Sutton; one son and daughter-in-law: Keith and Lynn Sutton; mother: Doris Hodge; sisters: Linda Hair and Sandra Johnson; grandchildren: Camill Howard (Robbie), Kaytlin Sherlin (Andrew), Cory Sutton and Holly Sutton; great-grandchildren: Emma Howard, Asa Howard and Lily Sherlin; Numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends also survive.

A celebration of her life is planned for 7 p.m. today, Jan. 6, 2014, at Clingan Ridge Baptist Church, 2412 Georgetown Road, with the Rev. Donnie Sutton officiating. The family will receive friends at the church this evening from 4 until the 7 p.m. service time.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations be made in Wanda’s memory to Hospice of Chattanooga. They would like extend appreciation to the entire staff of Hospice of Chattanooga for the excellent care they proved Wanda and her family.
