Saturday night, Jason Welshan of Maryville followed Kevin Gibson, the weekend’s wins completing back-to-back victories at the two tracks when he won the 30-lap LLM/Crate feature.
The Flyin’ Welshan Brigade pulled into victory lane after a dogfight of a battle with Tod Hernandez in the early stages of the feature. Unfortunately, Hernandez’s runner-up finish would be nullified when he refused a post-race protest from Fast-Qualifier and third place finisher Justin Litchford.
“The Litchmob” settled for second at the pay window with Lil’ John Ownbey rounding out the Top 3. The Hidden Hollow Motorsports No. 29 touted the “Front Row Joe” starting honors along with Hernandez and followed the heat No. 2 winner for almost 12 circuits. Welshan wrestled the lead from the No. T6 machine as small cautions waved over the next 18 laps for Tyler Adams, Michael Arp a few others. The win marks No. 4 on the 2012 season coming at three different tracks.
