He was born in Benton on May 30, 1942, a son of the late Dillard and Edna Wooten and has been a lifelong resident of the Benton-Cleveland area. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, the Rev. Wendell Wooten Jr.; and a sister, Jimmy Faye Bishop.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory one daughter, Debrah Bratton; and son, Jacky Wooten, both of Cleveland; and four other sons from Turtletown: Scotty, Chad, Mitchel, Matthew and Brian; one brother, Johnny Wooten from Cohutta, Ga.; his caregiver, Shirley Wooten; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous other extended family members and friends.
A memorial celebration of his life will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at the Living Waters PCG Church, 289 Hannah Road, Cleveland, with the Rev. Roger Wooten officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5 until the 7 p.m. service time on Friday at the church.
