DAYTON — Bradley Central coach Jim Kibler was pleased with the play of golfer Jordan Whitmire Monday as the Bears ran their season record to 4-1 with victories over Rhea County and Red Bank at Dayton Golf and Country Club.

The Bradley Central boys had an aggregate score of 167, while Rhea finished second with a 175 and Red Bank was at 208.

Whitmire paced the Bears with a 39, sharing medalist honors with Zach Madewell and Logan Vincent of Rhea County.

Hunter Chastain and Matt Whitmire had matching 42s and Cory Bandy added a 44 for Bradley Central.

The Bradley Central girls leveled their record to 2-2 with an easy win. The Bearettes had an 88, with Sloane Rakestraw getting medalist honors with a 41 and Tiffany Clark adding a 47.

The Rhea County girls were 20 strokes back at 108, and Red Bank had only one girl participating — forfeiting the match.

The Bradley Central golf teams will return to action Thursday in a match against McMinn County at Springbrook Golf and Country Club in Niota.
