William Hughes Casteel, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012, at his residence.

He was of the Protestant faith.

He retired from the United States Air Force with the rank of E-6. He was a car dealer whose hobbies included electronics, old cars and airplanes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe B. and Ruth Richeson Casteel; and a brother, Thomas L. Casteel.

He is survived by his children: Jeffrey Stevison of Cleveland, Robert Scott Stevison of Homestead, Fla., and Janet Annette Scott of Guntersville, Ala.; grandchildren: Austin Stevison, Riley Stevison, Gary McCord, Dillan McCord, Petra Stevison and C.J. Scott; four sisters: Joanne Davis of Cleveland, Joy Frazier of Charleston, Elaine Sanders of McDonald, and Kathy Casteel of Cleveland; two brothers: Benny Casteel and Mark Casteel, both of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Higgins officiating.

Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.

Pallbearers will be Gary McCord, Dillan McCord, Austin Stevison, Riley Stevison, Monty Frazier, and Aaron Lopez.

The service will conclude with a white dove release ceremony.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
