William J. Liermann, 77, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at his residence.

He moved to Cleveland from Florida in 1996, starting and co-owning Engels Auto Sales. He was a retired city bus driver in Pittsburgh with more than 35 years of service. He was of the Lutheran faith.

He was the son of the late William H. and Margaret K. Liermann. He was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Liermann; a daughter, Carol D. Liermann; and sister, Irene Keyes.

He was a hard worker, never missing a day of work, and truly loved his family. He developed COPD due to 60 years of smoking which consequently took his life; his family said that he would want his death to be a reminder to others that cigarette smoking is dangerous and not worth losing your life over.

He is survived by his ex-wife and caregiver, Estela Liermann of Cleveland; daughters: Kimberly Sutton and Diane Liermann, both of Sacramento, Calif.; sons: Lee Liermann of North Port Fla., Jimmy Liermann of Pittsburgh and William Liermann of Mississippi; eight grandchildren; brothers: Robert Liermann and James Liermann, both of Pittsburgh; sisters: Betty Liermann of Pittsburgh, Margaret Leffever of California and Carol Duffy of Pittsburgh; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no service and the body will be cremated.

The North Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes has charge of arrangements.
