Willis Woodrow Rymer Jr., 58, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2014, at 4:12 p.m. at Skyridge Medical Center.
He was an Army veteran, a native of Polk County and a resident of McMinn County for the past eight years.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Rymer of Athens; stepchildren: Ed Martin and wife, Angie, Elizabeth Smith and husband, Kareem, Sarah Howard and husband, Stephen, Sherlin Call and wife, Lisa; children: Angie Ferry and husband, Thomas, Amanda Talley and husband, Nathan, Greg Rymer and wife, Christine, Joey Miller and wife, Jennifer; three brothers: A.J. “Jimmy” Rymer and wife, Debbie, of Decatur, Rex Rymer and wife, Darlene, of Waverly, the Rev. Bobby Rymer and wife, Patricia; mother, Amalee Ogle Rymer, all of Reliance; sister, Debbie Peels and husband, Freddie of Cleveland; distant sister, Sue Wilcox and husband, Darrell of Greasy Creek; grandchildren: Chelsie Martin, D.J. Smith, Maurice Smith, Kaeden Smith, Bryan Martin, Zachary Martin, Jamie Martin, Anthony Jaggers, Dakota and Hunter Jones, Jessie and Jacob Call, Veronica, Samantha and Cheyanne Ferry and Aubrey and Ethan Talley; a special friend, Allen Duggan and family of Etowah; a friend, Gladys Thurman, of Decatur; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willis Woodrow Rymer Sr., and siblings, Larry and Barbara Rymer.
A graveside service is planned for Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at 3 p.m. in Green Hills Cemetery in Etowah. There will be no visitation in honor of Willis’ request.
