Winnie Dicy Ownby Ensley, 97, passed away on Sept. 9, 2011, at the family residence.
She was the daughter of the late Mary Lavisha Ownby and Bausdell Ownby.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, William H. Ensley; two sons: Leon Howard Ensley and Robert “Bob” Ensley; one sister, Nellie Roberts; brothers: Clyde Ownby and Riley Ogle; and one daughter-in-law, Shirline Ensley.
She enjoyed gardening and quilting.
She is survived by two daughters: Wilma Sue Graham and her husband, Willard, and Myrtle Park and her husband, Bobby, all of Cleveland; nine sons: Gilbert Ensley and his wife, Sylvia, Jimmy Ensley and his wife, Frances, all of Cohutta, Ga., Glenn Ensley and his wife, Ruth, Ralph Ensley and his wife, Wilma, Wayne Ensley, Roy Ensley, Earnest Ensley and his wife, Sheila, Jerry Ensley, and Albert Ensley and his wife, Linda, all of Cleveland; two daughters-in-law: Jearline Ensley of Crandall, Ga., and Nellie Nicholson of Cleveland; 16 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Ina Shults of Cohutta; three brothers: Ray Ogle of Cohutta, Ga., Homer Ogle of Beaverdale, Ga., and Roy Dot Ogle of Chatsworth, Ga.; two sisters-in-law: Katherine Ensley of Cleveland, and Helen Ensley of Georgetown; and several nieces and nephews.
A Remembrance of Life service will be held today, Sept. 11, 2011, at 2 p.m. at the Wildwood Avenue Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Rev. Earnest Ensley, Willard Graham, and the Rev. Bobby Park officiating.
Interment will follow in the Brock Cemetery in Polk County, with grandsons serving as pallbearers.
