Zella H. Creel, 88, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday morning, July 8, 2013, in a Chattanooga hospital.

She was the daughter of the late Janie Pearl Carlisle Creel and Chester V. Creel. She was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Love; and her brothers: Homer Creel and Amos Creel.

She was retired from the Church of God of Prophecy as an executive secretary with many years of service. She served as secretary to three general overseers in her tenure with the church.

She served as a volunteer at the Bradley Memorial Hospital/SkyRidge Medical Center with more than 40 years of service. She was a charter member of the Cherokee Secretary Association and served as its president many years.

She enjoyed visiting the shut-ins and the sick and she loved baking cakes, including wedding cakes. She was a member of the Peerless Road Church of God of Prophecy.

Survivors include her sister, Onita Andrews of Harriman; and several nieces and nephews.

The Remembrance of Life service will be held Thursday, July 11, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the North Ocoee Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Pastor Brian Sutton and the Rev. Darrel Creel officiating.

A graveside service and interment will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Mossy Grove Cemetery in Wartburg.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
