After Thanksgiving Day … How sweet it was. The turkey (and the ham) were perfectly cooked, there was creamy potatoes and that have-to-have green-bean casserole, along with ignored cranberry sauce and the eagerly awaited sweet potato pie with whipped cream. At some tables, diners had to wait until “What I’m thankful for” was said before indulging in the beckoning offerings. Then with stomachs stretched beyond capacity, the living room received the football fans, leaving the cooks to take care of the kitchen. more
Church Alive Ministries will celebrate Christmas and 23 years of service by Thomas E. Renfro, M.D., and Sid Renfro on Sunday, Dec. 2. Renfro was born in Norton, Va., to Mildred and Ed Renfro. Renfro overcome mantle cell lymphoma. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia, where he studied to become a medical doctor. He is a practicing physician, specializing in geriatrics and internal medicine. Renfro is also an ordained minister. more
