The Charleston Calhoun Hiwassee Historical Society will hold its quarterly meeting today at 3 p.m.  Bryan Reed, an associate professor of history TN eCampus Faculty Liaison/Campus Administrator at Cleveland State Community College, will be speaking on “Slaves and Freedmen in Bradley County during the Civil War.” The meeting will be at the Hiwassee River Heritage Center, 8746 Hiwassee St., in Charleston.

Bradley County government offices will be closed on Monday, Feb. 17, for Presidents' Day. Emergency services will continue to operate on regular schedule.

Cleveland Urban Area Transit System will be closed on Monday, Feb. 17, for Presidents’ Day. CUATS will reopen on Tuesday.
