During a presentation on smoking and the heart at Hopewell Elementary, students expressed many thoughts and concerns about how they want their parents and other loved ones to stop smoking.
Each age group was allowed to give statements on what they believed and wanted others to know about the dangers of smoking. As a team, students created the Conversation Hearts to be placed on the existing Bradley County Coordinated School Health anti-tobacco signs.
Their goal was to read a heart to their parent as they sat in the car line to be dropped off.
Some favorite quotes include that "kids watch" what their parents are doing and follow their examples, and that they would very much like to see their parents "grow old, have wrinkles, and to go bald," so they might share long lives together.
