The J.W. Triplett Cemetery Association is planning a cleanup date of May 4, beginning at 8 a.m., at the cemetery. A brief business meeting will be followed by work in the cemetery. Individuals with family members buried in the cemetery are asked to bring tools and be ready to work.

The annual Calfee Reunion will be held May 5, noon to 4 p.m., at White Wing Christian Bookstore, 3750 Keith St. N.W. Doors will open at noon and lunch served at 1 p.m. Bring your favorite covered dish or dessert. The Alhambra Shriners Clown Unit will hold a doughnut fundraiser Saturday;, beginning at 8 a.m., at the corner of Durkee and Spring Place roads. All proceeds will benefit the organization and the various  services it provides. Doughnuts are $9 per dozen.

Tennessee archaeologist Erin Pritchard will speak Saturday, 10 a.m., at the  Cherokee Removal Park. He will talk about the history of Hiwassee Island and recent finds on the island. This is a free event. The park is located at 6800 Blythe Ferry Lane in Birchwood.
