Abby Cheek Gill, 60, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, passed away on Sunday evening, Feb. 4, 2018, in a local hospital.
She was the daughter of the late Lillian Brock Cheek and Freemont Cheek. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Abby Lessie Brock and Ed Brock; paternal grandparents, Eliza Jenkins Cheek and Jeffrey Davis; and her brother, Gary Cheek.
She owned and operated two convenience stores for many years. She had a good sense of humor and she enjoyed music, dancing and watching soap operas. But most of all she loved being with her family. Shey was a Christian.
Survivors include her sons: Dustin Gill and his wife, Whitney, and Kory Lawson; her grandchildren: Savannah Gill and Logan Lawson; sisters, Phyllis Biggs and Marcia Towers; her companion and boyfriend, Garry Cronan, all of Cleveland; very special cousin, Michael Cheek; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
The Remembrance of Life service will be conducted on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018, at 2 p.m. from the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Chapel with the Rev. Ray Cheatham officiating.
The family will receive friends from noon until 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
