Tennessee Alpha Lambda Chapter (Athens) of Alpha Delta Kappa, an International Sorority of Women Educators, held its September meeting/picnic at Georgia Lamb’s Home on Watts Bar Lake.

Several state officers and special guests attended Alpha Lambda’s annual picnic.

Visitors from Alpha Theta Chapter (Cleveland) were Carol Peace, Tennessee state president; Joanne Swafford, state historian; Julie Mitchell, chapter past president; and Vivian McCormick, sapphire sister. Other visitors included Lynn Gibson, Gamma chapter (Knoxville) president and state parliamentarian; Brenda Chambers, state treasurer and member of Alpha Beta (Knoxville); Nancy Whittemore, ETDVP from Epsilon Chapter (Maryville) and Marlietta Cooper of Beta Eta Chapter of Maryville.

Peace reminded members about the upcoming East Tennessee District Founder’s Day Luncheon on Oct. 21. The Alpha Theta Chapter will be the host for this year’s luncheon, which will be held at Johnston Woods in McDonald.

The ADK sisters enjoyed a beautiful fall evening, a delicious covered dish and shared sisterly fellowship at a location overlooking peaceful Watts Bar Lake.
